Glenn Browne from Auckland Emergency Management will be there from 10:00 with 30 minute sessions about developing our resources and what you can do to help. Hear Shalema from Karekare talk about the "Karekare Experience" how a well organised and prepared resilience group was formed - Keep an eye out for further information and session times

The Annual General Meeting of the WRRA will be held on Tuesday 17th February at the Hall and we would love to see you there.
Our guest speaker is Glenn Browne, Community Planning & Readiness Advisor to Waitakere, Henderson-Massey and Whau Local Boards. Glen works alongside local boards and community partners to empower communities to be ready, connected and resilient in the face of disasters and emergencies.
Join us as Glenn explores what Civil Defence really is and the important role Auckland Emergency Management plays in supporting our communities before, during, and after an emergency.
He is working with our Committee in the development of a suitable Resilience Plan for Waiatarua.

Local Board members and Councillors will also be present.

Often described as alien, armoured and uninviting, the tokoriro / Auckland tree wētā is not a creature typically associated with beauty. Sometimes dubbed a cousin of the “God of Ugly Things”, its sharp angles and shelly exterior can make it feel inaccessible at first glance. In Pretty Thing, fibre artist Kendra Stoner invites us to look again.
