A spate of rubbish truck fires attended by crews in Counties Manukau led Fire and Emergency to contact Auckland Council’s Waste Solutions team. This resulted in a major safety campaign to educate the public on the risks of putting dangerous items that can cause fires in their rubbish or recycling bins.
